Hand-off procedures

Where an UIR ATC (EURx) is online:

• From UIR ATC to CTR:
  Once a local CTR comes online, the respective EURx leaves FIR & UIR services to the local CTR, and hands immediately off any aircraft in the area to the local CTR.

• From CTR to UIR ATC:
  If CTR is leaving, the CTR must coordinate with UIR ATC to ensure proper hand off of all tracked aircraft.

• From UIR ATC to APP:
  If a local APP opens below a EURx position, then arriving traffic is handed off by the EURx to APP at lower limit of the UIR (FL245), or instruct pilots to soonest contact APP.

• From APP to UIR ATC:
  If no CTR is online, the APP hands off all departing traffic at the lower limit of the UIR (FL245), or instruct pilots to soonest contact the UIR ATC.

• Special considerations:
  As VATUK is not part of EURW, flights between Ireland and the European continent have to be handed over to UK ATC (if present) while over UK airspace.
